Trump's MAGA Inc Spends $277 Million to Boost Republicans in Key Races
WASHINGTON — October 21, 2026
A political action committee supporting US President Donald Trump has spent more than $277 million on television and direct-mail advertising over the final six weeks of the midterm election campaign, seeking to strengthen Republican candidates in closely contested races that could determine control of Congress.
MAGA Inc, a super political action committee, has spent more than $300 million on the midterm elections so far, according to Federal Election Commission filings cited in the report. Its largest investments have focused on Senate races in Texas, Michigan and Ohio, where Republican candidates face strong challenges from Democrats.
Trump said on his Truth Social platform that he planned to direct between $400 million and $500 million toward the elections by November 3. Filings show that MAGA Inc channelled $225 million of its recent spending through two other super PACs, No Going Back and Safety & Affordability.
Super PACs can raise and spend unlimited amounts to support or oppose political candidates, provided they operate under rules that prohibit direct coordination with campaigns.
The spending has concentrated on three Senate contests that could be important to Republicans' efforts to retain their 53-47 majority. The affiliated political groups have spent more than $36 million on the Texas race involving Republican Ken Paxton, $30.1 million supporting Mike Rogers in Michigan, and more than $28 million backing Jon Husted in Ohio.
Democrats need to gain at least four seats in November to take control of the 100-member Senate, assuming the current party balance remains unchanged. Their prospects have improved amid voter concerns about high fuel prices, immigration enforcement operations by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE, and the war involving Iran.
The spending has also drawn support from major donors. Businessman and casino executive Stephen Wynn contributed $8 million in September, while Blackstone chief executive Stephen Schwarzman and businesswoman Diane Hendricks each gave $5 million that month. Hendricks has contributed $30 million to MAGA Inc. this year, according to the filings.
Other contributors included cryptocurrency billionaires Bijan Tehrani and Konstantin Sokolov, who each donated $1 million in September. Elon Musk has also invested in Republican efforts in Texas, where he moved the headquarters of Tesla and SpaceX in recent years.
MAGA Inc. raised approximately $450 million during the election cycle and had $164 million in available cash as of the previous week. Its late advertising push came after Republican leaders expressed concern about the timing of the group's spending.
The final weeks of the campaign are therefore bringing a major financial push from Trump's political network as Republicans seek to defend their congressional majorities. The outcome will depend on voters in races across the country, including the closely watched Senate contests in Texas, Michigan and Ohio.
